The Bookish Dilemma: Starting a New Book

This is always something that's tough for us readers. We've finished a book, and now we have to choose our next book to read.

It's not just choosing another book to read. It's also how much the book we just finished affected us. The more we loved a book and were affected by it, it's more likely that we'll have a harder time moving onto another book.

So what do we do? I have a few tips that may help out in this situation.

Tip 1: Have a TBR pile set up. Whether it's monthly, weekly, or for the year, having a little list of TBR (to be read) books set aside. It can be a physical list that you have on a shelf to refer to. It can also be a list that you have on your phone, computer, or a piece of paper. This way, you have a reference as to what you can read next without browsing through your bookshelf 100 times.
Tip 2: Don't rush the choice of your next read. Sometimes, you just need to ease into your next read without feeling the need to immediately move onto another book.
Tip 3: If you were deeply affected by the book you just read, you don't need to pick up another book right away. Again, take your time in moving onto the next book. And maybe write down your thoughts on the book you just read.
