I think that podcasts are definitely one of the more underrated media formats. There's the small clusters of people who do listen to podcasts, and love listening to them. They have their favorites and the ones they don't like.
People who don't listen to podcasts tend to simply be neutral about them. It's not like they don't like podcasts, but they just don't listen to them.
This post will hopefully change that, at least a little bit.

I have heard some people make the argument that you can't listen to podcasts and do something else at the same time. I would have to say that it depends on what you're doing exactly. If you're doing something mundane - laundry, dishes, etc. - then it's easier to listen to a podcast while doing the activity. But if you're doing something that needs more attention - homework, a certain craft, or an activity that makes a lot of noise - then it is harder to listen to a podcast.
Podcasts, in my opinion, are the nice middle ground between books and film. You don't have to be physically holding a book and, and you don't need to fully pay attention to a movie or show. You can just listen. They're amazing, in my opinion, because you don't necessarily have to have anything on you. All you need is an electronic device - your phone, tablet, or computer. You don't need a book, a DVD and DVD player, and you don't always need stable WiFi connection.
Podcasts, however, aren't for everyone. This is understandable. However, if you haven't listened to any podcasts, give one or two a try. If it's not for you, then you'll know. And if you love podcasts, don't force others to listen to them. Just give podcast suggestions.
