This is an interesting idea that I had seen around the bookish community. It was always phrased a bit differently - "Books I Thought I'd Hate but I Ended Up Loving" or "Books I Wanted to Hate but Ended Up Loving."
There are quite a few books that many, including myself, were unsure about but ended up loving. This could be because we've had not-so-good experiences with the author's previous books. It could also be due to the fact that the book is from a genre we aren't familiar with or just aren't drawn to.
Here are 6 books that I wasn't sure about but ended up loving.
- Sisters in Arms, Kaia Alderson
- Helen of Troy, Margaret George
- Circe, Madeline Miller
- The Song of Achilles, Madeline Miller
- Between Shades of Gray, Ruta Sepetys
- The Fountains of Silence, Ruta Sepetys
