I'll be outing myself in this post, but I honestly think that these things need to be normalized in the bookish community. Why? What we do with our own books is our own businesses, and no one else's.
So here are 4 unpopular bookish things that I actually do.

Dog-ear my books. Yes. I do this. Dog-earing your books is perfectly okay to do. That is - it's okay to do as long as it's your own book. It can be an easy way to keep track of your favorite scenes, certain pages you want to return to, and so much more. Just don't dog-ear a book that doesn't belong to you.
I read at the beach and the pool. I'll have a book on me anywhere I'll have time to read. That includes places like the beach, the pool, appointments, etc. Reading at the pool or the beach can seem weird, but these are some of the best places to read in my opinion.
I write in my books! This is called "marginalia," which essentially means notes in the margins of the books. (See Merriam-Webster definition here.) This can be one of the most helpful things for remembering your thoughts of a certain scene or chapter.
While I'm reading, I'm perfectly okay if the spine of my book gets creased. Why? For me, a creased spine is a sign of a read book. It's a stronger sign of an enjoyed book. If I'm borrowing a book, I'll try not to crease the spine. But with my own books, I am perfectly okay with my books' spines creased.
I full agree on the creasing of a spine. It just means a book is well read and loved!
